Description
Suf embroidery is a traditional form of embroidery practiced by women in Gujarat in Western India and in Sindh in Pakistan.
It is based on counting the threads in the weft and warp of the fabric. That’s why the patterns are based on a triangular design or “suf”. They are usually geometric, symmetrical, and very detailed. Traditionally bright colored threads are used to make elaborate designs to embellish a bride’s trousseau but are now adapted to suit other articles as well.
